Amounts and payment dates
- Vale: investors will receive R$ 1.5687 per share this Wednesday.
- Fleury: the amount paid will be R$ 0.1302 per share.
To be entitled to Vale’s dividends, investors needed to hold the shares in their portfolio by August 11. Starting August 12, the shares began trading without the right to the payment. In Fleury’s case, the record date was December 2, and the shares began trading ex-dividend the following day.
Information on dividends and taxes
Dividends are the portion of net income that companies periodically distribute to shareholders as compensation proportional to the number of shares they hold.
These payments are exempt from income tax for investors. Unlike dividends, there is also Interest on Equity (JCP), a type of payout subject to 15% income tax withheld at source.
